Your optical home

The Frame Haven GH Ltd is a Ghanaian-owned eyewear brand dedicated to making quality, fashionable and accessible eyewear available to people who value both vision and personal style.

We operate as an online optical and eyewear retail business, offering a carefully selected range of prescription optical frames and fashion eyewear for men, women and children. From timeless classics to contemporary statement pieces, we help customers find eyewear that complements their face, personality and individual sense of style.

Being clear about what we are is the whole point. Here is exactly where we help, and where you need someone else.

What we do

  • Sell optical frames, sunglasses and fashion frames
  • Help you choose a shape and colour that suits you
  • Fit and adjust the frame so it sits properly
  • Arrange prescription lenses through our lens partner
  • Fit plain, blue-filter or tinted lenses to any frame

What we don't do

  • Eye tests — we are not an optometry practice
  • Write or change prescriptions
  • Diagnose or treat any eye condition
  • Grind lenses ourselves; our partner does that

If you have not had your eyes checked, see a licensed optometrist or an eye clinic first. Bring us the prescription afterwards and we will take it from there.

What's on the wall

Four ranges, priced so the tag tells you the whole story for the frame itself. Lenses are quoted separately, because what you pay depends entirely on your prescription.

Optical frames

Everyday frames built to take a prescription lens. Full-rim and half-rim shapes in acetate and metal, in a range of widths so there is something for narrow and wider faces.

Designer frames

Designer brands curated for fashion and prescription needs. Acetate, metal, half-rim and rimless shapes in a range of widths, to suit different face shapes and personal style.

Sunglasses & fashion

Statement shapes and tinted lenses for people who want the frame to do some of the talking. Wearable as they come, or made up to your prescription.

New frames go up on Instagram before anywhere else — see the current collection at @the.frame.haven. Message us there and we will hold anything you like.

Holding a frame

Frames go quickly and we sell one of most things. So that nobody is disappointed, holds work on clear rules rather than goodwill.

24 hoursAny frame can be held free for a day while you decide.
30% depositNeeded to hold a frame beyond 24 hours.
2 days maximumThe longest we will hold a frame, deposit or not.
Back to stockIf no purchase is made by then, the frame is released.

Frames are held on a first-come, first-served basis. If another customer wants to buy the same frame and no deposit has been made, it will not be reserved.

Choosing a frame

You do not need to know any of this before you buy from us — we will walk you through it. But if you like to arrive with a shortlist, these are the things that actually matter, in order.

The four things worth thinking about
What to checkWhy it mattersQuick rule
Width across your faceThe single most important fit measurement. Too wide and the frame slides down all day; too narrow and it pinches at the temples. The frame should end roughly where your face does
Shape against your featuresContrast usually reads best. A rounder face carries angular frames well; a squarer jaw is softened by rounded or oval shapes.Pick the opposite of your face shape, then break the rule if you love it
Frame depthIf you will need reading and distance in one lens later, a very shallow frame leaves no room for it.Deeper frames are more flexible about lens type
MaterialAcetate is warm to the touch, holds bold colour and hides thicker lens edges. Metal is lighter and thinner but shows more of the lens.Strong prescription — choose acetate

Try frames on in daylight if you can, and take a photo. Mirrors flatter; a phone camera does not.

How prescription lenses work

We do not make lenses. We work with an external lens partner who does, which means you get proper optical work without paying for a lab we would have to run ourselves.

You choose the frame with us, we send it out with your prescription, and it comes back fitted for an additional fee.

1

Send your prescription

A clear photo of the card is fine. It should be less than two years old. No prescription yet? See an optometrist first — we will still be here.

2

Choose your frame

We can tell you which frames suit your prescription. Very strong prescriptions rule out some shapes, and we would rather say so before you fall in love.

3

We send it out

Your frame and prescription go to our lens partner, who cuts and fits the lenses. We quote you the lens cost before anything is ordered.

4

We dispatch to you

The finished pair is sent out to you. Turnaround is one to three working days.

Your prescription, in plain English

Prescription cards look intimidating and are not meant to. Here is what each number actually means, so you know what you are handing over and what you are paying for.

EyeSPHCYLAXISADD
Right (OD)−2.25−0.75170+2.00
Left (OS)−2.00−0.50005+2.00

An example card, not a real person's. This one describes someone slightly short-sighted, with a small astigmatism, who also needs help reading.

OD and OSJust Latin for right eye and left eye. Some cards simply say R and L.
SPHThe main strength. A minus number means distance is blurry. A plus number means close-up is blurry. The bigger the number either way, the thicker the lens.
CYL and AXISThese two go together and correct astigmatism, where the eye is shaped a little more like a rugby ball than a football. CYL is the strength, AXIS is the angle it sits at. Blank means you don't have it.
ADDExtra reading power added to the bottom of the lens. It usually shows up after about forty and is completely normal.
PDThe distance between your pupils in millimetres. It is not always printed on the card. If yours is missing, ask your optometrist for it before you order — the lenses have to be centred on your eyes to work.

Prices

Frame prices are firm and on the tag. Lens prices come from our partner and depend on your prescription, so we quote you before ordering — never after. All prices in Ghana Cedis.

Questions people ask

More answers live in the Highlights on our Instagram, under FAQs. If yours is not covered anywhere, message us — WhatsApp is fastest.

Do you test eyes?

No. We are a retail eyewear business, not an optometry practice. Have your eyes tested by a licensed optometrist or at an eye clinic, then send us the prescription and we will handle the frame and the lenses from there.

Can I buy a frame without a prescription?

Yes, and plenty of people do. Fashion frames with plain or blue-filter lenses, and sunglasses, are all available with no prescription needed.

How long do prescription lenses take?

One to three working days, because the lenses are cut and fitted by our lens partner.

Can you put lenses in a frame I already own?

Yes. Send the frame to us and we will do the rest. Please note that delivery both ways is covered by the customer.

What if the fit is not right when it arrives?

Send it back to us. Adjustments and tightening are free for the life of any frame bought from us. Glasses loosen with wear — that is normal, not a fault.

How do I pay, and do you deliver?

Payment can be made by bank transfer, mobile money or cash. Details are sent to you when you conclude your order. Delivery is quoted based on your location.
